Student Affairs Director

Mariama Bah currently serves as the Student Affairs Director at Guineans Succeeding in America. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Weismann School of Arts & Sciences at Baruch College. In her initial year at Baruch College, Mariama actively participated in the Guinean Students Association (GSA), engaging in weekly events and sessions until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of the Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge (SEEK) program at Baruch. During her time at Baruch, Mariama sought to foster connections and expand her network by attending various club events, including those hosted by the Black Students Union and African Students Association. Her commitment to community involvement extended to an internship at the New York State Assembly, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and honed her skills in policy-making and governance. Currently pursuing a Master's of Science degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in the global economy at New York University School of Professional Studies, Mariama remains deeply passionate about global affairs. Her academic pursuit is driven by a desire to comprehend the intricate dynamics of our interconnected world, with the ultimate goal of translating this knowledge into impactful actions. Looking ahead, Mariama aspires to collaborate with NGOs or international organizations to effect positive change on a global scale. Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Mariama finds joy in various pursuits, including reading, experimenting with pottery and painting, and traveling to immerse herself in diverse cultures.
